The WPPC’s Annual Native Plant Sale is May 5!
Our annual native plant sale will be on Sunday May 5, 2024 from noon until 3pm in the Commons Area at McHenry County College. We often have a line forming by 11, so plan on arriving early for the best selection. We will have plants available that will thrive on your property whether it features sun, shade, wet areas or a combination of all three. This year’s sale will feature over 130 species with prices generally in the $4 to $9 range. Plant availability changes from year to year, but here is a plant list of what should be available. In addition to our wide selection of plants native to northern Illinois, we will have a selection of books available for purchase and a vendor selling heirloom vegetable plants and herbs. There will be many experienced native plant gardeners volunteering at the sale who will be able to answer your questions. If you’re unsure where to begin, here are some basic garden plans to get you started.
