Walk on the Wild Side–Westwood Elementary School, Saturday, July 24, 2021, 11:15am

  • Jul 24th @ 11:00am - Jul 24th @ 12:00pm
  • Westwood Elem. School
  • The Wildflower Preservation and Propagation Committee

The Westwood Elementary School Garden was created in 2018 to enhance the school’s curriculum and serve as an outdoor classroom. It is a community effort led by the school staff and enhanced by help from Judy and Jack Speer of Smallwater Education, a grant from Illinois Clean Energy Foundation and plants provided by the WPPC.  This beautiful native garden provides a place to explore and observe interactions between butterflies, bees, and other insects.  This walk will take place immediately after the Sheahan property tour.

Directions: From the Sheahan’s, follow Moraine back to South Street, turn right and Westwood School will be on the right. Gardens are on the west side of the building.
