Butterfly Migration Radar Image

Monarch migration visible on weather radar

  • October 22, 2019

The migration of the monarch butterflies and dragonflies can be seen on National Weather Service radar.  The yellow and red colors indicate a higher concentration of these beautiful flying insects, and the green color shows lower concentrations.  This image was captured earlier this month as the insects passed through Oklahoma, assisted by a north wind.
