School’s Garden Walk showcases

plants donated by the WPPC

On September 14, 2019, Westwood Elementary School in Woodstock held a garden walk to show a newly planted prairie garden.  Designed by the non-profit Small Waters Education, the garden includes 300 plants donated by the WPPC as part of our Outdoor Classrooms program.  The walk highlighted late-season bloomers including various asters and goldenrods. The school uses the garden for science and environmental classes as well as for inspiration on writing assignments.

The garden is located behind the west side of the school located at 14124 W. South Street in Woodstock.
